Mount up and jump back into “Gears of War 2” with new multiplayer matchmaking features in Title Update 6

Social matchmaking update accompanies price drop of “All Fronts Collection” content pack along with Triple Experience Weekend kicking off on Xbox LIVE

 

Sydney, Australia – 27th May, 2010 – Starting today, Title Update 6 gives a new reason for “Gears of War” fans to load up their Lancers and rev their chainsaws.  The title update, available now on Xbox LIVE, introduces a new public multiplayer match feature called Social Matches that allows you to jump in and out of games without disruptions, including Horde mode matches.  Social matchmaking also lets your party join a match already in progress or start a new match if there are no suitable matches to be found.

Consumers help make history with record-breaking “Halo: Reach” beta

As a testament to the anticipation for its release, more than 2.7 million “Halo” fans helped make entertainment history this month by participating in the “Halo: Reach” multiplayer beta on Xbox LIVE, making it the largest console video game beta test on record and more than triple the size of the “Halo 3” beta. Players completed more than 13 million online games and logged over 16 million hours of online game play, amounting to over 1,826 years of total play time in just over a two-week period. The data and user feedback gathered from the beta will help Bungie and Microsoft further refine the game and deliver a blockbuster experience that fans have come to expect from the “Halo” franchise.

For anyone that's been experiencing issues in Red Dead Redemption online multiplayer, we've just enacted a fix which should help.  Instructions for both platforms are below, along with a description of what's been addressed.  If you still need assistance, please contact RDRsupport@rockstargames.com and make sure to include your platform and online ID.
We will continue to investigate any and all issues people may be having including the ones this update aims to fix.  Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we work through this stuff.

This fix addresses a specific issue that was found where the player’s multiplayer avatar, their horse or their weapons would occasionally not be visible in multiplayer games as well as an issue that some players were experiencing where they would lose connection to the various multiplayer modes.

To apply the update on PlayStation 3:
You must be signed into a valid PlayStation Network ID and be connected to the PlayStation Network before starting the game up.  If those two conditions are met, your PS3 will automatically download the update in the background and the game will apply the fixes when you start or join a multiplayer session.

To apply the update on Xbox 360:
You must be signed into a valid Xbox LIVE Gamertag and be connected to Xbox LIVE before starting the game up.  If those two conditions are met, your Xbox 360 will automatically download the update in the background and the game will apply the fixes when you start or join a multiplayer session.
