You've probably all already noticed that we've (reluctantly) added Google Adsense advertising in various spots throughout TGV. On the forums the majority of ads can be disabled simply by registering, which I recommend you do to (at the very least) turn the ads off.
I just want to reassure you that this measure isn't to bleed your eyes dry of every last advertising cent you have to offer. The advsertising has been added to relieve some of the burden of server fees and licensing costs for the site. As we grow, you'll notice we'll have the capacity to feed this money back into the site, with better giveaways, perks and larger scale ideas for you all to enjoy.
So thanks for your support, TGV wouldn't be the community it is without you all and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know personally.

I've been a little slack with updates to the Arcade over the Holidays (Merry Christmas by the way!) but today I've added in a bunch of Defence type games for you all to enjoy!

Halo 3 ODST Will be hitting our shores in September and to celebrate in style TGV and Microsoft have 2 tickets to give away to the exclusive Halo 3 ODST VIP event in Sydney on Cockatoo Island!
If you live in Sydney (or can make it to Sydney at your own expense) and will be able to make the event on Thursday 6th August you are invited to enter our competition to win 1 of 2 tickets on offer. All you need to do is grab a team mate and sign up on our forums for the tournament.
The tournament details are as follows:
Game of choice: Halo 3
Date: Saturday 1st August - 8pm AEST
Game Type: Capture The Flag - 2 vs 2
Rules: The team to capture the most flags in a single 15 minute match wins. The victory is confirmed after the winning team posts the game link from Bungie.net OR if the losing team confirms their loss on the forums.
It's a single elimination tournament with the winning team receiving two (2) tickets to the event (one ticket per teammate).
Sign up on our forum with your team name and team member for the tournament before 5pm Friday 31st July to be in to win!
Terms and Conditions (as per Xbox.com) - Entry is open to residents of Australia aged 15 years and over. Winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All costs associated with travelling to and accommodation in the city in which the event is being held are the responsibility of the entrant.

Many of you would remember Pidgeo from the old days at Xbox.com. The then Community Evangelist for Xbox at Microsoft here in Australia, he kept us in the know with his blog and various postings around the interwebz.
